Manthani is a village and Mandal headquarters in Karimnagar District of Andhra Pradesh.
Manthani is located Approximately 70 km from the district Head quarter Karimnagar and 240 km from Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh state.
It is situated on the banks of the river Godavari. It is a very ancient center of Vedic learning, and even today houses many scholars well versed in the ancient knowledge of the Vedas and Shastras. Manthani (from Sanskrit Matra Kutam or the House of Vedas) is popularly believed to house a thousand Brahmin families or Sahasra Brahmana Gadapa. In reverence, local scholars refer to Manthani as Mantrapuri (the town of hymns). Despite the smaller size of the village, it has a distinction of very highly educated and very successful community. This “Manthani” community is so successful that its roots are all over the world and almost in every field.

Geographically, “Manthani” is situated between East Longitudes 78030′and 80030′ and North Latitudes 18030′ and 19000′ and is at an altitude of 421 ft. (128 Meters) above the sea level. Distance wise, it is comfortably placed at some 60+ KMs from District Capital, Karimnagar and some 225+ KMs from the State Capital, Hyderabad.
“Manthani” is bounded by the sacred river Godavari in the North, A small stream (locally called “Bokkala Vaagu”) in the South, Reserve Forest in the East and a Pond (locally called “Ravula Cheruvu) in the West.
