Actress Sameera Reddy’s living in the fast lane these days. Well, quite literally and it doesn’t just have to do with her bagging film-maker Priyadarshan’s film by the same name.

A high-octane thriller, Reddy will be seen kicking some serious butt in this one and being an adrenaline junkie, the actress’s obviously excited about it. “I was treated like one of the boys and that in itself was quite a change,” she says.


And of course, there was the pull of doing action sequences on her own. “Yes, action is something that I’d been dying to do for quite some time now and this one’s just whetted my appetite for more. I think doing action stuff is pretty addictive too,” says the actress, who’s pulled off some risky stunts all by herself.

“I prefer kicking ass to shaking mine on screen any day,” she laughs whilst comparing the thrill of doing an action film and latka-jhatkas on screen.

So is this her stance even though her recent item number in Aakrosh was well-received? “Well, I may do an item number but only if I’m convinced about my director’s sensibilities. Otherwise it’s not something that I’m particularly looking forward to,” she shrugs.

What then is on her to-do wish-list? “What I am looking at are some meaningful, interesting projects. But at the same time, I don’t believe in going de-glam just to prove that I can act too. I’m game for any role as long as it invokes some interest in me as an audience too,” adds Reddy, who’s also been balancing a hit career down South with one in Bollywood.

That also calls for living out of a suitcase, something that Reddy’s been doing for the past few months. Shuttling between aamchi Mumbai, London and down South, she admits, “Yes, it’s pretty hectic and I’m off to Hong Kong next week again.” But the actress’s not complaining. “I’ve been enjoying work too much to miss anything else,” she says.

Does that include a love life too? “Yes, including that too. The only love life at present is between me and my work,” says the actress who’s looking sexy in her newly acquired svelte figure. The secret of which she says is yoga and swimming.”

The actress also confirms that she’s signed film-maker Prabhudeva’s next film. “It’s an interesting role and Prabhudeva’s someone I’d been looking forward to working with, so I can’t wait to begin work on this one,” she smiles.
