AP students did an encore at the IITJoint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) cornering a record number of ranks, including the top rank, in the exam this year. The state bagged six ranks among top 10 and nearly 40 ranks in the top 100.
I Prithvi Tej, a student from Hyderabad bagged the all-India top rank in the open category while V Shaimak Reddy secured third rank, Saikiran Burle (fourth rank), Kunal Chawla (sixth rank), T Bhargav Reddy (eighth rank) and J Varun (ninth rank).
The students reaped a rich harvest of ranks, repeating the feat of their seniors last year. This is said to be the best performance by any state in the examination. As many as 65,000 students appeared for IIT entrance test from the state.
The state also saw two friends bagging the first rank in the ST category and the sixth rank in the OBC category.
Having been friends for two years and studied together to crack the test, Rama Krishna Banoth and Bairaboina Varun are on their way to enter the portals of IIT. Both of them also got ranks 177 and 56 in the general category.
But while all the other toppers in the state are busy celebrating their victory, the two friends are calm and are vying for their ultimate goal of becoming civil servants.
Rama Krishna (17), born in a tribal hamlet of Hanayatanda of Irlapudi mandal in Khammam district says: “I am not content with securing the first rank in IIT-JEE. I now want to focus on preparation for the Civil Service examinations.” He wants to opt for computer science at IIT-Bombay.
“I want to pursue computer science since the manageable syllabus will help me dedicate more time to prepare for the Civils,” the topper said. Similarly, Varun is also planning to accompany his friend to IIT-Bombay. “It will help us prepare together again for the Civil Services exams,” said the boy hailing from Torrur village in Warangal district.

Naagam suspended from TDP Party | Reasons for Suspension

As expected, the Telugu Desam leadership has suspended TDP Politburo member Nagam Janardhan Reddy for ‘antiparty’ activities.

The TDP Politburo, which met at party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s residence soon after the conclusion of party’s Ranabheri in Karimnagar on Wednesday, endorsed the recommendation of the Telangana Telugu Desam Forum (TTDF) made three days ago that the Nagarkurnool legislator be suspended.

It is for the first time in the TDP that a Politburo member was suspended without being served a show-cause notice. Janardhan Reddy was a minister for 12 years in the cabinets of NTR and Chandrababu.

After the end of the meeting, TDP Politburo member and former law minister P Chandrasekhar said action was taken against Nagam for making uncharitable comments not only on Chandrababu, but also on the TDP leadership. The Politburo did not mention the period of his suspension.

The Politburo meeting lasted for about an hour. Before ratifying the recommendation of TTDF, Chandrababu spoke to some Politburo members about Nagam’s defiance of the party leadership.

Nara Chandra Babu Naidu Confirmed the suspension of Nagam Janardhan Reddy today Night (25th May) - More News will be updated soon, pls stay tuned

After mulling various options for months, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Monday finally mustered enough courage to brand rebel MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy as a “covert agent of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy” and prepared the ground for his suspension from the party.
The Telangana Telugu Desam Forum (TTDF) adopted a unanimous resolution to this effect at a meeting here and urged party president N Chandrababu Naidu to suspend Nagam from the party for his “antiparty” activities. For the TDP chief, now it is a matter of mere formality to crack the whip on Nagam.
An unfazed Nagam said people would not believe in the “theory of two eyes” propounded by Naidu. “I did no mistake and action against me is not correct. Is it my fault to talk in favour of Telangana?” he questioned.
The party, it seems, is confident that not more than one or two MLAs will support the rebel leader. “Initially, 17 MLAs attended Nagam’s meetings. Now, only three are with him,” claimed a TDP leader.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, TTDF convenor E Dayakar Rao said all the party’s T-leaders felt that delay in taking action against Nagam would further damage the party.
“Nagam insulted all the leaders and systematically damaged the party’s image with a hidden agenda,” said another MLA M Narasimhulu.
Nagam had been maintaining close relations with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, he alleged. In a bid to dent Nagam’s T credentials, he recalled that the rebel leader had made a statement on the floor of the Assembly in 2004 that the region would develop only in a united State.
Earlier in the day, MLAs K Hareeswar Reddy and Jogu Ramanna declared their support for Nagam but the forum did not recommend action against them.
“They did not utter a word against the party,” Dayakar Rao reasoned

New Delhi: In yet another terror goof-up by the government in India's most wanted terrorist list given to Pakistan, a fugitive has been found in Mumbai's Arthur road jail. Feroz Abdul Rashid Khan was on the list given to Pakistan and was accused in 1993 Mumbai blast case. Than was arrested from a village in Navi Mumbai in February 2010 and was handed over to CBI for further investigation. CBI had issued an Interpol Red Corner Notice against Khan in 1994 but the notice was not withdrawn even after the agency had got his custody.
"CBI has conveyed to the Home Ministry that the lapse was on the agency's part. When CBI forwarded the list to MHA, they forgot to delete the name of this person," a Home Ministry spokesperson said.
Khan is alleged to have facilitated transport and distribution of arms and ammunitions during the blast and subsequently. Mumbai police had alleged that following Dawood Ibrahim's instructions, Khan arranged for landing of arms allegedly used in the blast.
