Popular South Indian actress Sujatha has passed away today (6 April, 2011) due to ill health. She was 58.

Sujatha was born on 10th December 1952 in Srilanka. Her mother tongue was Malayalam.

The actress has performed in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi language films. She began her acting career in the year 1967 with the Tamil film ‘Tabasvini.’ She acted with veteran actors like NTR, ANR, Krishna, Shoban Babu, Krishnam Raju, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

Some of her notable accomplishments are Guppedu Manasu, Gorintaku, Eedanthasthula Meda, Pasupu Paarani, Vamsa Gouravam, Sujatha, Bangaru Kanuka, Sandhya, Sutradharulu, Guru Shishyulu, Mayadari Krishnudu, Circus Ramudu, Asha Jyothi, Pranaya Geetham, Sirimalle Navvindi, Bebbuli, Anubhandham, Prema Tharangalu, Chanti, Pelli etc are.

She was last seen in Nagarjuna’s ‘Ramadasu.’

Sujatha won the Nandi Award in the year 1997 for her role in ‘Pelli’. She has also received prestigious Kalai Mamani Award from the Tamil Nadu Government.
